The number one rule about long distance relationships is that you must have complete, stable foundations of trust. If you don't trust each other, you will drive each other crazy with paranoid accusations of cheating and constant questioning of your whereabouts.





Other than that, make sure you really want to be together. LDR's are not for people who just started dating or are half-hearted about the relationship. You might be far apart, but the emotional investment is the same, if not more, than when you are physically close. If you guys would rather explore and meet new people, an LDR may not be right for you.





Some great ways to stay in touch are video chatting (download programs like Oovoo (www.oovoo.com) or skype), phone calls, and writing letters (when you're feeling sentimental). i personally think they kill people, but if you get to see eachother then it could work out, my bestfriend dated a guy in flordia for 5 months they saw eachother 3 times and they were horrible. she is currentally dating a guy from california who lives on the otherside of the cuntry they have seen eachother 1 time and are doing fine. her mom was dating a guy in georgia and they ended up getting married, it all depends how far away it is, and how trusting you are with him
