Long distance relationship advice, what to talk about via email HELP?

I met a girl at a party in europe in the summer of 2006 while i was on vacation. We actually only hung out for one night and we only kissed. The next day i had to leave but ever since then we've been talking via email, however lately i haven't been able to say much. Not much is going on with me, just school and work.





I'm not expecting a ';more than friends'; relationship, although i'm planning to go to europe after graduation from uni for work and i may run into her again... I want to continue talking to her and she seems eager/happy to talk via email. The only problem i have is that i don't know what to talk about!! I am somewhat of a shy guy so maybe someone can give me some pointers...

I've been in a LDR for 4 years, believe me its not easy comming up with topics sometimes. You can ask her about her family and about any things you wondered about her country. In my relationship i'm the talker and i don't mind when my guy is quiet as long as i hear an occasional uhhuh or yeah. For a while my bf and i got stuck in a rut so what i did was i started to read about things going on here in my place and about there in his place and then told him about what was going on her and asked him what they have resolved about whatever is going on there. Another thing that we do is play yahoo games which is fun ( i know you said email but just thought i would bring it up). I like to tell my bf stories about things that me and my friends used to do when i was younger, he likes to here those stories. All in all you just have to talk about what you think is interesting and then add a bit of questions to get her involved in the conversations so its not all one sided. Let her know that you dont' really know what to talk about if you trully can't think of anything that way she can pick a topic and help you out. You can just listen women love good listeners.


Ask her how her day went, what she is doing this winter, summer, etc.


Ask her what her plans are for her future, the holidays, ask her what her favorite memories from childhood are, ask her what career she wants to pursue and why, ask her what she would like to do for a dream vacation, ask her about the sights she has seen in Europe which ones would she visit again, why or why not.


Just talk, ask a question and let her talk...


Its easy don't think about it so much.
Ask about family, where did she grow up? What are her interests. What kind of music and any new groups has she heard. If a certain song shares some of your feelings that day download the words and send them to her. Just talk to her like any other friend. A good relationship is based on friendship, so if you see her again, you will have a good foundation to build upon. Hope this helped a little anyway.
