Advice for Long Distance Relationships...?

I have been in an 8-month relationship with my boyfriend and we are quite serious. We've known each other since middle school and are now both 23. We were out of touch for about 10 years and reconnected this year. Since we've reunited we've had our amazing times and we've had our rough patches...but through it all fell in love and have even been talking seriously about marriage. We have met each other's families and are in this for the long term. He recently moved South to pursue his career and it was really tough for both of us. Now I am wondering if there is anyone who has experienced something similar and if there is any advice you would like to share about being in a serious long distance relationship?Advice for Long Distance Relationships...?
I know it's tough but you have to hang in there! My bf lives in the UK %26amp; we get to see each other 3-4 times a year if we're lucky! It's very expensive for international flights so you're lucky you guys are in the same country at least lol. Have you considered moving closer to him? It can be done, good luck! :)Advice for Long Distance Relationships...?
This can only work if you move to the area where he had to locate for his profession. If that is impossible, there seem to be no hope for getting to know each other well enough to get into the marriage plans.
I hate to tell you this but long distance relationships don't work. There has to be A LOT of trust, respect and the idea that one will move to be closer to the other one. I was in one and it didn't work. Best of luck.
I hate to break it to you....but they don't work. It's very much emotional distress. Best thing to do is be friends.
