I started college in the fall and my boyfriend and I decided to stay together and try to work it out even though we were going to be far from each other. It does get hard but it is definitely not impossible. I found this website and it has tons of ideas on how to keep things interesting because it can get hard to think of things to say when talking on the phone after a few months. Hope this helps and good luck! =)Any advice on making long distance relationships work?
I have personally been in a long distance relationship with a boy who moved to Tanzania, and unfortunately it failed because I wasn't patient enough. You have to understand that whether it is him moving or you moving that you both have lives to live and that even though you may miss him you can't stay home all night on msn waiting for him to come on.
You need various ways of keeping in contact letters are very personal but if that isn't for you then choose something else.
Phone, texts, internet, buy or use a webcam so that you can see each other daily.
Also set yourselves a time to make contact so that you both know when you will be able to talk to each other.
Bear in mind though that your relationship has to be very strong to withhold an LDR give it a few weeks and test the water if it isn't working out for you it is best to end it than hold on for longer.
I hope this helps!Any advice on making long distance relationships work?
Everyone says they don't work.. and im sorry but to be honest i dont think they do..
i was just in one and well, it was hard coz we only saw eachother like once a week and sometimes it was like once a month and it just got to a point where the relationship didnt go anywhere and i ended it.
but maybe its different for you, just be strong is all i can say really, and look forward to seeing them.. :)
i'm in a long distance relationship and i'm 14, so i don't know how different it will be if your in a different age group to me, but i've been with my boyfriend for half a year and we live 2 hours away from eachother, we stay in contact through phone, texts, and just meeting eachother whenever we can, and if he likes you, it will work because absence makes the heart grow stronger. ...
It's a struggle, but you just hafta keep in touch.
No one can really give you much advice on that subject, other than calling each other every day and arrange visits, where you go see him and vice versa.
Facebook...Skype...
My partners currently working in Africa, its really hard but talking honestly everyday helps and little surprises help, like letters or flowers. You have to be quite old fashioned to be romantic these days.
you ned to se each other at least once a month for a weekend, i doubt you can last for long without any physical contact
