I started a relationship with this guy, he moved to california. I really do love him, and he tells me he really does love me...
however, due to circumstances too weird to explain we cant see each other as often as we would like.. last time i saw him was about a month ago..
We talk everyday, and we really want to make it work, but we get so frustrated because we cant see each other, i can hear it in his voice...
please, tell me what to do... i really love him how do i calm myself and calm him and be a little bit less desperate and to keep our love alive...I need advice, long distance relationship...?
Life is about choices. First find out from each other what you want most out of life, for him and for you. Career or relationship.
If both of you want to be together so much, then both of you have to sit down and talk over what to take and what to give up, to resolve the present conflicting situation. It is a tough choice, career may be important to him and equally to you. If neither side can give way then both must trust and love each other enough to concentrate on what is at hand and try to agree and work out on a more long term plan to be together, keeping constant and frequent contact is important, though frustrating but at least you keep each other going, and try to be positive, this only buys both of you some time. Again a lot also depends on what kind of characters is he and you. Are you the patient type?
So think carefully, and choose what you believe is best. And try to ask him to do the same. Love or something else.
Good luck to both of you.I need advice, long distance relationship...?
its so hard. i know from experience. visit as often as u can, and talk even more...even if its just text or online. send him a card. have flowers delivered to him. write him a cheesy poem and send it to him. mine ended because the guy i was dating was in the army and went to iraq. he ended it. good luck! just be careful!!!
i'm sorry to break it to you but
long distance relationships don't work!!!!
i've been through too many of them..and just ended up getting my heart broken...
it CAN work...if you guys fully trust each other and don't mind seeing each other a lot...
but if you love someone..thats usually not the case.
good luck sweetie
is the distance only temporary? if youre both in love and want to make it work...someone will have to make the move. some people are worth it. you just have to decide if hes worth it or you simply just want a boyfriend.

I need advice(long distance relationship) help please?
We've been together a little over 4 years now. And i feel like we're falling apart. I'm 17 hes 18 and we live about 70 miles away from eachother.
This week his cousin from France started living with him and his family. we havent seen eachother in over 3 months cause we've just been packed with things to do. We talk every night and even sleep on the phone every night. And lately he calls me really late.. I AM SO SURE he is not cheating on me. We're not like that at all and we love eachother a lot and plan to get married in about 2-3 years. We were supposed to see eachother this weekend but he cant see me and then I decided well maybe the following weekend but hes going camping with his dad. But i feel like im going insane... Im the kind of person who needs someone to talk to I dont know why but i just am and i need someone to talk to....
but anyways what should i do about this??
How can I cope with this. I feel depressed and if your gonna be mean when you answer this then dont bother i really dont wanna hear it right now im just looking for help on what do do.... thanks :/I need advice(long distance relationship) help please?
It's unfortunate that he had to cancel coming to visit this weekend and that he is busy next weekend. You should let him know in the future how important those weekends are to you (maybe doing so now will just make him feel bad and get defensive, but the next time you plan a weekend try to say things like ';I'm so excited to see this weekend'; ';it really means a lot to me that you're coming to visit';).
I know it seems silly, but pay attention to your menstrual cycle as I've seen that women tend to get more needy around that time. You can even let him know that you're going through this ';needy time.'; If you are aware of your changing emotions, it makes it easier to not freak out until you're sure it isn't related to menstrual cycles or stress at school.
The best remedy, in my opinion, to getting over the feeling of being distant is to take effort to complete little acts of kindness. Find him something on the internet and ship it to his address as a small gift of caring. Send cards or letters to make it seem like he's closer. Having a physical item (not an e-mail) makes it seem like the person is closer.
It's also important to make sure that the weekends he cannot come to see you that you are keeping yourself busy so that you don't dwell on his absence. However, I would also make sure to let him know that you would enjoy sharing your experiences on that weekend with him so that he doesn't get the feeling that you don't need him or want him.
I hope that helps!

I need advice...(long-distance relationship)?
i need help. i am currently in love with a guy who lives thousands of miles away from me, but the thing is, i don't even know if we are going out. it's so crazy because i can't go a day without thinking of him. i keep telling myself that i'm already taken by an amazing guy, but i'm not even sure if we are together or not. i can't have crushes on other guys because i love HIM too much. i haven't seen him since the summer of 2007, but i'm seeing him this summer and i need advice on what to say to him because i am so confused about our relationship. he probably doesn't even love me, and i've been worrying about him all the time without even thinking about the consequences. and the thing is, whenever we're together...it's, i don't know. i think we connect on so many levels. but it's difficult because i'm so quiet and shy around him, and he complains about that. he says stuff like, ';why don't you ever talk? you can never strike a conversation up with me'; and it's so frustrating to him, you know. so, yeah. i need advice on how to open up a little bit more once i see him again, and how i could inform him about my confused feelings with our relationship.I need advice...(long-distance relationship)?

A long distance relationship... Any advice?
I am from Macedonia and I have been in a relationship for 2.5 years with a boy from my town. However, in September I'll be going to the US to college for 4 years. It is really hard for us both, and we really want to stay together, no matter what. But the visits will be rare, and Internet and skype our only method of communication.
What should I expect? Will it work? How can I make it work? Any advice?
Thanks!A long distance relationship... Any advice?
Four years of college will, as it should, change you into a completely different woman. Unless he attends college also each of you will be on a different path in life. You will also have the opportunity to meet many other men who you may be interested for a relationship. It will be almost impossible to keep the faith and be true to the man who is many miles away. Wanting to stay together at 18-19 sounds good but what about 22-23. Compare: Do you see and think the same way in the 12th grade as you did in the 8th? Let's hope not otherwise there would be no mental advancement in your life.

Advice... long distance relationship ?
my boyfriend and i have been dating for 5 years now. we did the long distance this for 6 months a year into our relationship. I then moved in with him and his 4 best guy friends. long story short now i have to move back home to go to school and he wont be coming. we both agree on this decision. but just the thought of us have a long distance relationship again is breaking my heart already, and i dont leave till another 4 months. It wasnt a good experience last time we tried the long distance thing. i will be going to school for a good 3 years at least. i dont know if i can go that long without living in the same town as him. we will be 6 hours away.. any advice of similar stories to share would be great.Advice... long distance relationship ?
If you both want your relation to continue, you both will have to travel 3 hours and meet somewhere in between. I know some friends who are married for 20 years now, they are married and live in different countries, high positions in their respective companies and no children, they manage to meet somewhere in between, visit each other in their respective countries, go to vacations together and it works although everyone had said it wouldn't work when they accepted the positions they are in. But it takes two, to really want something to go on and two, ready to sacrifice a few things. Good luck.Advice... long distance relationship ?
Its never a easy task to hold a long distance relationship but you can still visit him or have him visit you. on Holidays etc or even weekends and if a relationship can survive through long distance then there really isnt a better kind of relationship. Just be strong for each other and make sure you can at least talk on the phone often as its not as good as being there but it helps.
well honey there relationships that have been going on for long time even over seas relationships have there problems you both have to be strong if you want to last keep contact strong call email even post cards yes hes 6hours away but if he cares about you he will wait for but dont be surprised if you and him drift apart this happens just hope and pray you both get thru this bye good luck
I mean if you want to see him then go on grayhound or something, and then maybe it'll be better? I guess. Btw I was 22 hrs from my girl and I came here for school for her.
girl i was in a long distance relationship for 7 months and it's not fun. the only thing that kept us together was that i got to see him 1-2 times and month and the times that we were together were worth the 2 weeks i was alone and i didn't get to talk to him but 1-2 times a week either. it finally got to the point to where i would see him once a month and i'd only hear from him whenever he'd call to come over and then he ignored me half the time he was here. plus he was trying to cheat on me so i finally broke up with him. i wish you more luck with your guy than what i had with mine. just stay in touch and call him, email him and you guys should be fine.
Have the best time in these four months.
You both seem to be in a pretty solid relationship with each other so i wouldn't worry, as long as you're still willing to work for it which i guess you are. There's always phone, email, all sorts of ways of staying in contact. 3 years seems a long time but it'll be a great 3 years of your life as you'll meet all sorts of new friends so it may fly by. You need to do your own thing though so it's kind of good to get some space as you can gain life experience. I'm sure you two will do all you can to visit each other and keep it going so try not to worry too much even though it is a hard thing to move away. Good luck!

Advice for long distance relationship?
i have been with my boyfriend for about four months now. i am in love with him. our relationship started, is, and will continue for a while to be- long distance.
i have broken up with past boyfriends because of distance and i tend to get really emotional when i can't see my man on a regular basis. however, i want to make it work this time. so, i'm asking for advice on how to cope with the distance? especially from girls because we tend to be more emotional.
any advice would be nice and much appreciated. thank you in advance!Advice for long distance relationship?
You both have to make the effort to call one another and wen one of you have the time go n see each other.

I live nearly 5 hours away from my boyfriend--- and I understand that it's hard to cope with the distance. Some days are harder than others.
I try to hang out with my girlfriends as much as possible--- the nights out help to keep my mind off the fact that I'm not with my boyfriend. Reading always helps. Just find as many ways as you can to distract yourself from thinking about it constantly.
Also, ask yourself ';Do you see potential for this relationship to go anywhere?'; If you can't see any kind of future with him, don't waste your time trying to make a long distance relationship work.
If you really, really want to make it work--- talk to him EVERY SINGLE DAY! Even if it's just for a few minutes. You need to keep each other informed on what's going on in your lives.
Once you get the hang of it, it gets a lot easier. I promise.

A long distance relationship need advice?
My best friend is a girl who has a boyfriend. The problem is her boyfriend lives 3000 miles away in Canada. She met him online 5 years ago and says ';our relationship is different.'; Me and some of her other friends are worried. We told her that long-distance relationships dont work but she gets mad and ignores us. We dont want to see her hurt.
My question:How can we make her realize that this ';guy'; online cant possibly be a good boyfriend for her and make her give him up?A long distance relationship need advice?
you got to ask yourself this question how much do you know about their relationship and the other thing is, Not To Be Rude, but is it any of your bussiness, how long the two have been having the relationship or if they ever seen or visted each other and if she is in a relationship where she is happy then just respect that and be her friend. She gets mad because she loves this guy and she feels like you are another person trying to break them up also she might get mad because she feels it is noyb none of your business. She feels angery because you are most likely not the only person to tried to break them up.What she wants is a person to understand and accept her decisions.Obviously she loves him to have a long distance relationship for 5 years. With a lot of people trying to break them up. Respect her choice. She has been in this relationship for 5 years Obviously she loves him.Love Is The Strongest Thing In This World And It Is Not That Easy to find In This Cold Cruel World She just wants a friend to respect her wishes.good luckA long distance relationship need advice?
if she plans on meeting him in the future then let her. cuz i like someone in new york and i live in kansas......so im just going to meet him when i turn 18(im 15) and see what takes me from there!!!!
# 1:Who are you to judge? If they met 5 years ago and he's still around,it sounds as if it IS working !!!
#2: A relationship doesn't have to be up-close and physical in order for it to be a relationship. They can meet each other's emotional needs amd have a very loving, warm relationship.
#3:Years ago, couples wrote long love letters to each other, sometimes for years, exploring and discovering each other's heart, before they ever kissed, and the marriages lasted 50-plus years.
So,it is entirely possible that this GUY knows your friend better than you do.
long relationships never work brake up
cannot 'make' anyone do your bidding if they are not willing to abide....let the girl live her life and learn her own lessons...and be a fren.... do not make her feel like a poor pitiful loser...
Well, you never know... if they can meet up and then make a plan to somehow move closer to each other, then why not? If they only intend to keep it online, then what's the point? Ask her to either make a plan to progress the relationship or rethink this as it's a waste of time. It's got to be one or the other...
You can't really make someone realize that.. You just have to be happy for her and wish for the best... she won't realize that he's not good for her until she sees it herself.... so you just have to be a friend and be there to listen as much as you can and support her through everything... thats all we can do. Trying to convince her will only lead her to think you don't value her decision and could make you lose your friendship with her.
long distance relationships can work if both people are willing enough to go through the hard time and not be with eachother in a physical sense. as long as she is happy and safe then why are you worried about her? who are you to say that something she does wont work? that doesnt sound like to much of a support system. do you know this guy? maybe he is a good boyfriend. obvioulsly if there are details you are leaving out then maybe you have a right to say so. but unless she is in danger or unhappy...then leave her alone and let her live and possibly make her own mistakes
my sister met her boyfriend online and they've been together for 3 years.
he lives in washington dc and we live in california.
he visits her every month.. if not twice a month.
she tries to visit just as much.
if they're really serious about each other then there should be no reason as to why they've been together so long without meeting each other.
if they have met then leave her alone.
my sister is proof that all it takes is determination love and hard work in a relationship.
Thats a good question, how u make someone realize that the boy she is dating isnt good for her?
Thats the biggest friends issue there is, all u can do is be there cause he will brake her heart.
Long distance love, happy the four of us, thats what people say, what makes her feel so sure that he isnt cheating?
Eventually she will get tired of it and give it a rest, maybe u could try talking to the guy (but only if u know him or have talked to him). Anyways a woman in love is hard to make her stop, so my best wishes for u dude.
Good luck!
rob her computer haha
You shouldn't try to make her do anything. Just let her know that you are worried for her and will be here no matter how it turns out. And then don't say any more opinions about it unless she asks for them.
I recommend you to read this free E-book called 97 Steps To A Happy Relationship. It's a free and easy download, so it won't hurt to check it out.
