Advice about long distance relationships?

My boyfriend and I have been together for about a year but because of work, he is going to be away for three (non consecutive) months for the remaining duration of 2008. Has anyone been in a long distance relationship before that has advice for keepings things going? graziAdvice about long distance relationships?
I am in one right now, my boyfriend lives 76 miles away from me, close to a two hour drive. The lack of minutes on his phone makes it hard to communicate, but we do send letters by mail. Email is always nice, but I prefer letters. When I get his in the mail, it is like a little piece of him, seeing his handwriting and his thoughts spilled over two pages makes me happy. Its allows me to feel close to him, and I can take them wherever I want, in case I need to remind myself how much he cares for me.

We only see each other on weekends, but the letters most definitely help, and it is something I recommend for long distance.

If you don't feel so inclined to that idea, you always have the phone and email. But in the mean time, to keep yourself from going crazy, find things to busy yourself with. Go and see friends you haven't seen in awhile, have a girls days out with some friends, clean the house! There are loads of things you can find to do to kill time.

i will be ok. i'm long distance relationship, it suck not see him everyday but we make the best out of the time we have together. we will spend a whole weeekend together. sometimes we don't even go anywhere we set watch tv nd hold one another close. call him every night even if only for a few mintues just to tell him that you love him. and most of all trust him. trust it will pay off because me and my b/f are getting married
Yes i have been in a long distance relationship and unfortunally they never work. my feeling is, y not enjoy a relationship with somone u can see on a regular basic. mayb u should rethink everything.
If it's only 3 months during the rest of the year and they're not consecutive I really don't see how this could be a problem - ok you will very much miss each other whilst he is away but he'll be back before you know it!
i already a year been in long distance relationship.. what most important is u need keep trust him.. dont think too much.. and keep believe that nothing bad would happen..
