ADVICE ON LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIP!?

So I went to El Salvador this summer, went to a party and for the first time ever I can say I met the love of my life. Now im back in US and he's about 6 hours away by plane. He calls me and I call him when I can. He told me that in the past he has had a lot of other girlfriends but he has never felt the way he does for me, he said he seriously fell in love with me and now is scared to loose me because of the distance. They day before I left he went to my grandmas house to talk seriously about our relationship to my grandma and my aunt. A friend told me that she was amazed over the fact that he did that because he has never done that for any other girl before and maybe this time he truly did fall in love. But now that im here and he's over there im scared I might loose him. I might not see him for another year or four. I cry about it but I try to be strong. Any advice on how to keep our love strong and going even though we can't see eachother in person?ADVICE ON LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIP!?
I am in a long distance relationship and i completely understand what u r going through. I live in PA and my bf lives in SC so there is a 10 hour driving distance between us. To keep out love going we IM every day and email about how we r feeling or what we did that day and then we talk on the phone at night. I plan on moving in with him but right now i just started my first year of college so we have to wait four years until we can truly be together. If u ever need a shoulder to cry on feel free to email me at any time because i know how it feels to not be able to touch then or kiss them....its hard....u will get through it! Good Luck and keep in touchADVICE ON LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIP!?
WOW that is happening to me with the difference that my parents don't like the guy I am in Love with. We not going out but we call each other. I think that you shouldn't worry much about it. Things happen for a reason. Just try to keep in touch with him. Keep talking in the phone.... if you go see him in a year then try to spend ur time with him as much as you can. If you go in 4 years..... then you should be aware that stuff happens. I know is hard but just try to keep in touch so he can see that you love him... and so that he can feel good that you still think about him . cause guys might think that we can find another guy in the US since there are lots of guys over here... lol but yeah just keep in touch.
There are tons of ways to connect now a days. Why don't you use skype? It's an awesome program that allows you to make video calls - you can see, and talk to each other live. It's better than on the phone, and it's better than over the Internet as well. Not to mention, skype is free. Here's the link so you can see.

I use it with my friends who have gone off to university.

If you love each other, you'll last.

Good luck.

Advice needed, long distance relationship - no end in sight? :/?

Hellooo

I met my boyfriend about 3 months ago, pulling him off my best friend in a club because she had a boyfriend. we got talking and REALLY connected. got together and have been together a month, the connection we have is intense and very strong. Thats probably why he decided, a week before he went to uni, to start a relationship with me. we both knew it wasnt a fling sort of thing, and both wanted a lot more.

I see him often, about once a fortnight if we both have money. i LOVE it when im there, or he's here :) its just perfect, in every way. i hate it when hes not, and recently its become a lot harder. Im going to uni myself and although im applying to where he is (through my own choice, not purely because hes in the same city) there is little chance ill go there. Ive applied to 4 other places, and basically my problem is this

long distance is very hard at the moment

when i go to uni, if its still long distance, it will be hard

hes going to spain for a year in 2 years, for his year abroad at uni. Ill be doing the same, but in 1 year but to italy.

he doesnt want to live in england when hes graduated and working, he wants to move to egypt or spain.

his mum and dad are in a long distance relationship, and i see myself heading in the same direction as his mum and if i cant bear it now, its not the kind of life i want for myself either. but i love him, and im not naive enough to think hes the guy ill spend the REST of my life with, but it seems that way at the moment. he talks so openly, unlike anyother guy ive met, and you can tell he honestly sees us together long term. he often says he wants us to get through anything, and talks about the future and refuses to think about me not in it. he calls and texts everyday without fail, and i trust him completely. but if i dont want the long distance thing to last for the rest of my life, should i carry our relationship on for now or not? because the deeper i get into it, the harder it will be.

HELP PLEASE! :( advice?

ps no patronising comments please about how long we've been together. his mum and dad got married after 3 months and have been together 20 years, its not length of time, its feelings and i know that. but any help appreciated! :)Advice needed, long distance relationship - no end in sight? :/?
You fell for this guy after witnessing first hand the drooling he was doing over YOUR FRIEND? Hmmm..... Dump his a$s.Advice needed, long distance relationship - no end in sight? :/?
Hello... well, I was in a long distance relationship for 3 years... that recently ended... anyhow, you know, you have to follow your heart. A lot changes with time, and I think that right now you may be thinking too ahead of yourself. How about you enjoy the love, be happy and see how things go before putting all this stress...

It's difficult I know, but you will be hurt either way... hurt if you decide to break off the relationship over assumptions, and hurt if you stay to find out yrs down the road the two of you wont be together as much as you want to be.

Follow your heart, and if the two of you see each other committed to one another for the longest time, than do so. I wish you luck!
both ur lives are going in different directions. You need to see what your priority is, if it is him, find a way to be with him but how clong can you keep doing so? you have your own career and future to think of. Get your priorities right.
I honestly have nothing negative to say to you about your feelings, I know how you feel. Long distance can be complicated but Love will push through anything. I think that if you can get into school semi close to each other you will be happier but It will be ok if you need closer. He will want you happy I am sure no matter what based on what I know. You have to follow your heart! Everything else will fall into place!
I say you HAVE to have a set of deal-breakers.

If having a long-distance relationship for the rest of your life is a deal-breaker, then break of the relationship now. The longer you take this relationship, the more miserable you will be.

Wouldn't you rather find someone who you can see more often? And actually think about a future with without having that long-distance thing looming over you?

I say break if off now.

My personal view is that if you can't see yourself marrying someone, why date them? Or at least, if you don't know that from the beginning, but discover a deal-breaker along the way... then don't drag it on. You're leading him and YOURSELF on.

The only way I can see that carrying on the relationship would be a good thing is if you managed to find a way to take the long-distance aspect out of it. For the long-term.

Edit: I also have to say that while emotions and ';your heart'; DO have a lot to do with this... DON'T do something based on ONLY your emotions. Use your head, make smart choices. :) You know, your brain is a lot smarter than your heart. This was partially in response to another poster.
i see no reason to break off the relationship right away, because the future plans you guys have are tentative by definition and so need not preclude a relationship that's in the present and gives you happiness. of course, if at any point you feel that the heartache from being away most of the time outweighs the happiness, call it off (preferably in person), but don't take the decision in a hurry or a rush of emotion.

Need some advice regarding long distance relationship.?

Hi everybody, i need some help.

My girlfriend and I have been together since high school, were going on 6 1/2 years now. She had to move to another city (about 70 miles) away because her brother bought a new house. She lives with him because the parents are in another country.

Anywho, we saw each other on the weekend and everything and things were going okay. Well recently she got a part-time job, which is good and now she is also going back to school now for 3 yrs.

We talk almost everyday, email, phone calls, IM etc. But am a little concerned about a few things.

First of all, he has this group of guy friends she works with, and she says she's just friends with them, which i do trust her but i dont trust them. I told her how i felt about them, and she understands but she wont give them up (am not trying to make her give them up) since they are nice to her and everything. Nobody has tried anything with her either.

Now, she doesnt want me to meet them, or tell them she has a bf (she says its nobody's business, she is like that with everyone, even girls, if she is asked about bfs, she'll say she has one).

With her working and with school, she barely sees me anymore. She tells me she still loves me and wants to be with me, but right now school and work are a prority and now am kind of a lower prority.

About our relationship, she says its good to get space from each other, and how we should use this time now to do what we couldnt do before. Like for instance she suggested i should practive my guitar more, work out, that sorta thing.

When she was with me, she was so focused on our future and she said she wants to be with me and all that, I don't think she feels different but to me it kinda feels that way since she doesn't mention it anymore or like really talk about it. She says right now she wants to focus on the now instead of the later.

I might be moving to where she is in about a years time (due to work) but she feels that maybe we should still stay apart for awhile.

The truth is, i dont want to lose her, to anything or anyone. What do you guys think about this? i know i should trust her and have faith in her but since she started work and school and those guy friends showed up I barely eat and sleep, like it gets to me.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.Need some advice regarding long distance relationship.?
Having a job and going to school is a good thing, but if she is serious about you being in her life then she would make you as high a priority as the others.

I also think that just because she is in another city and really busy doesn't mean she can't have time for you.... you said she's not as focused as she was before on your future. That would worry me a bit.

I know you're worried about others, but you have to trust in her as a person. She won't give out what she doesn't want to, no matter how much someone asks her for it, if she has a good character and knows who she is and what she wants.

Bottom line is you have to talk to her. You need to ask her some point blank questions about where she is in her feelings with you. If you may be moving to her city and she still suggests space, I would think she isn't ready to be committed with you. You don't want to force her into such a thing and I doubt you could, but I mean don't pressure her.

She will have to decide these things on her own and come to you if and when she's ready and if she doesn't, you have to respect her decision and move on no matter how much you want her.

Talk to her face to face, seriously...and soon.

Good luck!Need some advice regarding long distance relationship.?
';mga sawing palad nga naman';

this is a filipino phrase, hehe...

if you trust her then be strong...

but if you find out that she has another, then she's a ***** and must be disposed of...
You really have the courage to type this big question.. well there is only one thing i can say.. girls changes with a wink of an eye.. i guess you are intelligent enough to understand..
get rid of her. she going or is with another guy
Maybe you are moving to slow and she is doing this to see if you hurry and make the next step...cause if I were your girlfriend after 6 YEARS! eather I look for someone else who wants to start a life with me or I will try to let you know that is it now to make the next step or never...and maybe she is trying to do this or both of this 2 options....she might be looking for someone else and letting you know that you might not be the onlyone so you better hurry buddy!!

Good luck!
think about it -- she is telling you that her new friends don't know she has a boyfriend. why not?

if I were in your position, i'd ask her to come clean about her feelings and if she still has plans for the future with me.... after over 6 years with her, you deserve a straight answer.

her behavior is odd.
well i thnk you worry too much and you are a little bit jealous, its perfectly normal, you have been with her for a long time, so dont worry i am sure she cares asmuch of you too... let her have some fun and give her some space, be honest about how you feel but also tell her that you are not worried about anything as you completely trust her and you have total faith that she will never betray you... but mostly let her have her space fo now.

good luck buddy..
To be honest, it sounds like the harder you try to hold on to her, the quicker you're going to lose her. She is enjoying her independence and sees your actions as potentially interfering with this. Even couples who are great together can't always continue their relationship after such drastic changes -- I think you should start preparing yourself in case it doesn't work out.
In short, keep trust in her.

HELP! i need help with long distance relationships! PLASE! =( i need some words of advice =(?

my bf is moveing about 54 miles away form me! we r both going back to school soon and i know im gonna miss him so much!

we both drive, and will be able to drive down and see eachother like 2 times a week or so! maybe more some weeks but maybe less some weeks...how can i miss him not so much?! like what r some ways besides talking on the phone at night and stuff! helppp!

and have U ever had a long distance relationship? how did u deal with it?HELP! i need help with long distance relationships! PLASE! =( i need some words of advice =(?
I went through this when my boyfriend went to Uni over 100 miles away from me. I cried every day I walked to College and every day walking home. We wrote each other letters (no internet connections back then) and phoned every day.

After a year of seeing each other on the odd weekend I applied to a Uni next to his Uni and we shared a rented place with other students - each had a room of our own. We got engaged. Then he finished his course a year before me and started work back at home.

When the new term started I cried and cried and lasted 2 days before taking a year out - I never went back - I married him - 20 yrs later still together - but it was the most painful time of my life. I was faithful - he tried not to be but failed - I reckon we would have split up if he had managed to cheat on me but he was drunk every night so I was lucky - I think?

Sorry if you thought there was a way of not hurting - there is - either go with him or break up with him to avoid what I went through. Good Luck xHELP! i need help with long distance relationships! PLASE! =( i need some words of advice =(?
OK, that is nothing. Seriously. Try 2000 miles and months apart. Trust is important. I'm not sure how old you are, but maturity helps too lol.

I need advice on stuff to talk about so that i dont become extinct. I REALLY like this gitl and would want to be with her in the future but i have to make sure that w dont get bored with ourselves before we see each other. i need helpI am currently in a long distance relatoinship a long distance relationship and currently need advice?
I am also in a long distance relationship. I am not a phone talker at all, but with him it's no problem. Since we don't have the daily face to face encounters, the phone is second best. We email and send text messages throughout the day as well. As long as you are open and honest, and get to know her better, things should be fine. Don't worry about having planned topics unless things are really strained. If they do get to be that way, try talking on the phone less and sending letters between phone calls. It takes a lot of trust and patience to be in one of these things. But if she's worth it, you have to go for it!

Hope all goes well!I am currently in a long distance relatoinship a long distance relationship and currently need advice?
Hmmm, that is an interesting question. From my experience, long distance relationships don't ususally work. I suppose what you could do to ';fan the flames'; is to send her little messages i.e., IM her, if you both have access to the internet. Phone her, send her flowers etc.
awww...how sweet.well tell her about stuffs that you do.tell her things about you.after all you rarely see each other so both of you might want some info on what's happening.

Any advice for a long distance relationship?

I am in a long distance relationship and i want it to last. Any advice?Any advice for a long distance relationship?
frist of all make sure that u both have the same strong feelings, cause relationships r always hard labour of two people and when on the distance even more. if one of u is not sure or not completely fallen, it will not work.

second get ready that it's gard to have long-distance relationships and not to be obsessed by the situation, not to be too jelaouse and suspicious and just take it as it is. if there is love it will overwhelm all the difficulties.and last trust to eachother if u really love eachother .GOOD LUCKAny advice for a long distance relationship?
my advice is to not expect too much out of it. it usually ends bad, because eventually someone else will come along either where you are or he/she is and you can't compete with that. Long distance relationships never work, you just have to have close contact, IM and email and webcam and telephone can only do so much.
Most of them don't work. I wish you luck
keep up the contact, calls, e mails, letters, if you are able to hop on a plane to visit do it but obviously that is costly just do what you can. when you are together cherish every moment and dont waste time arguing about anything its not worth it. good luck
wont work!
i used to have one, but we broke up, so keep it REAL STRONG!!
dont get ur hopes up...long distance relationships are REALLY hard to deal with
Can you afford a plane
Long distance relationships take a lot of extra work, but if you really care about the other person then I'm sure you can make it work. One thing that is especially important in long distance relationships is that you and the other person need to work really hard to communicate openly wth one another. Also--do not let petty disagreements turn into full blown fights because when you are in a long-distance thing it is MUCH easier to get into an argument and let it create a rift in your relationship.

When you do get to see him/her, make sure to make it special and romantic every time...just to show how much you care about them.

Have fun and good luck! :-)
i know it takes alot of trust and communication. be sure to talk about anything that is bothering either one of you. if you don't keep the lines of communication open it will be near to impossible to make it work. visit when you can
I am in one also, and I have been in it for over a year now. All we do is talk a lot, on the computer and phone. Send him/her pics and stuff, and just make sure to talk a lot. My bf and I don't really go longer than three days without talking because then it feels awkward when we talk again.
Well you can keep in touch by phone, computer, and more.Is it a girl or boy?
They never work! One of the best things about love is that you can be near each other. It'll drive you crazy being away from your love. Even though it's hard, you COULD try it, but you might wanna just end it.
First of all make sure that the other person is willing to be in a long distance relationship with you.

After that the best thing to do is keep a lot of close contact. My boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship. We have been ever since we started dating almost two years ago. The best advice I have is to be open and share what you feel.

Oh, and don't let any conflicts drag on along time. It will only hurt both of you and might wind up ending your relationship.

  • First time long-distance online relationship advice?

I met this girl on youtube (i kno i kno) and we've been hitting it off really well, but I have no idea how these sort of things work. She doesn't live terribly far away so we should be able to actually meet up at some point not too far away, but it's still confusing for me. Is it possible for an 'official' relatiohship to work in this situation and how would one go about declaring that? And how long do you think a long distance thing could work before you have to move near eachother to keep it going?First time long-distance online relationship advice?
take it from someone who knows.

i was in your EXACT place a while ago. someone i who didnt live too far, we hit it off great, dated for a year, fell in love, and one day he just got up and left. the distance made to VERY hard to figure things out cause he cut off all contact.

its been 8 months and im still not over it, please dont risk it.

i know first hand it never works.
